Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born on March 4, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress as well as a comedian and writer. O'Hara has been awarded a variety of prizes that include the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award), two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. In the year 2020, she was presented with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Performing Arts Artistic Achievement Award. O'Hara first became known as an actress when she was a part of The Second City improv comedy troupe in Toronto in 1974. Dan Aykroyd and John Candy were also part of her main cast in the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd started work on Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara received praise for her comic writing and acting skills which earned her an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for a Variety Series in 1982. O'Hara was appointed to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
